Souptik drives Genesis Media’s growing data science team and their focus on attention as the most comprehensive metric for the publishers and advertisers in today’s digitally connected landscape. He brings a wealth of experience in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and knowledge management. Prior to Genesis, he served as Senior Research Scientist at Thomson Reuters, deeply involved in building several products focused on text mining and recommendation. Souptik led the effort in building the algorithm that powers P·A·R™, Genesis’ method of scoring page content quality in real-time and continuing his effort to deepen the platform’s intelligence capabilities, while making its data infrastructure actionable via machine learning and data-driven insights. Souptik has published a number of research papers on data mining algorithms in international conferences and journals, and has been awarded multiple patents.
Souptik holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland.
